STARS Stage Performance Programs

From The Universal CityWalk Lagoon Stage^*, non-marching groups entertain crowds of delighted Universal visitors. Whether your group is a jazz band, show choir, concert choir, orchestra, or dance team, the cheers and applause of grateful guests will leave your performers with wonderful lifelong memories.

What to Know Before You Apply

General Information

Each group should submit a completed application 90-days prior to the proposed performance date. Along with the completed applications, groups should provide the following:

URL or link to a video of your group’s most recent performance featuring the uniform that will be worn during the group's performance (approx. 3 minutes in length for each performing group).
A written script of any spoken material to be used during the performance.
A complete list of titles of the music that will be performed or played during the performance.

Musical selections will need to be approved by Universal Orlando Resort prior to the group’s performance.

All groups must submit photos of their performance attire for approval at least 90 days prior to your group’s arrival
Recognizable character costumes and mascot costumes are not permitted.
Performance attire associated with other theme parks and their subsidiaries are not permitted.
Matching polos, t-shirts, pants, shorts, or other matching resort style attire is permitted (No jeans)
Director’s attire is at your discretion (suit jacket and tie are not required)
Dance Groups: Shoes must be worn at all times. Dancing barefoot or in socks is not permitted.

All groups must submit photos of any props/banners or equipment outside of instruments you would like to bring for your performance must be submitted for approval at least 90 days in advance.
Timpani, Concert Bass Drum, Marimba, Xylophone, Chimes, Congas, Bells, Vibraphone, Drum Set and Keyboard are available and can be provided by Universal Orlando Resort upon request for Stage Performances and Sound Design: Music and the Art of Foley Workshops.

Frequently Asked Questions

A video of your intended performance is required for your application to be reviewed. We will not review an application without this video. You should be in the uniform or costume you intend to wear during the performance. If your group is not wearing the intended costume, a color photo of the group in costume or uniform is required. Digital videos and photos can be included with the STARS Performance Application submission.

Performances: All performers must be in uniform or in costume as appropriate. During spring and summer months, bands may substitute wool uniforms with alternative uniforms, such as matching shirts with collars and matching pants. Jeans and t-shirts are not permitted.

Workshops: Uniforms are not required for Workshops and will be up to the discretion of the group’s director. For Dance Workshops students are required to wear (or bring) appropriate dance attire (i.e. shoes, clothing, etc.).

Performance groups must be a minimum size of 40 including non-performers. Dance Is Universal Workshops require a minimum of 20 Youth Participants.
Groups outside the state of Florida are required to purchase a minimum of a 2-Day Park-to-Park ticket. For groups within Florida, a minimum of a 1-Day Park-to-Park ticket is required.
Theme Park admission is required for the day of your program.
The number of chaperones cannot exceed the number of youth.
You will be notified of your program time 2-3 weeks prior to your performance.
All performers must be at college level or below.
All dancers are required to wear or bring appropriate dance attire. Please ensure all costumes are age-appropriate and family friendly.
All performers must be in uniform or costume.
Please provide a recent video link of your group performing from within the past year. If your group is not in the uniform you plan to wear, please supply a photo of your group in uniform.
Recognizable character costumes or performances representing such characters or animated films are not permitted. School mascots are permitted only after approval.
Stage performances are 30 minutes in length.
